Welcome to my blog! I'm delighted that you've somehow found your way here, whether your visit is deliberate or accidental.
I created this blog to provide friends, family and other followers with a window to my experiences working with CUSO-VSO in Zambia. From July 2010 to January 2011, I will working with the Mazabuka District Council to advance their Integrated Development Plan toward the final stages. While I have a general idea of what this will involve, there are still many unknowns to work out upon arrival. I'm still living and working in Ottawa, but as time goes on, I will post stories and photos on my blog that I hope will pique your interest. I think you can even be an official "follower" by clicking on some links at the side of the page. I've always wanted groupies... so please sign up. :-)
As some of you may (or may not yet) know, CUSO-VSO is an organization that sends volunteers from Canada and the US to work on high-impact projects in the developing world. For many years, CUSO and VSO were independent organizations with similar mandates. A few years ago, CUSO became a member of the VSO Federation, which is headquartered in the UK. There are a number of other VSO recruitment bases around the world, namely the Netherlands, Ireland, India, the Philippines and Kenya/Uganda. I encourage everyone to check out the CUSO-VSO website at www.cuso-vso.org.
